Hark Bohm: Amrum

This novel is set on the North Sea island of Amrum in 1945. The story follows young Nanning as he navigates the end of WWII through a child’s eyes while sensing the political tensions dividing the small island community. The idea was to show a stylized lighthouse in its iconic red and white striping. Black type intentionally completes a color palette that evokes the Third Reich’s visual identity – reflecting the omnipresent shadow of Nazi Germany that looms over the young protagonist’s world.
